GOM is the Tibetan term for meditation, meaning "to become familiar with" or "to get closer to" our mind's intrinsic nature. Often, our minds are entangled in a constant flow of thoughts and emotions, such as strong attachments and anger. These mental distractions prevent us from experiencing our mind's true, underlying nature, which is inherently enlightened, compassionate, and filled with love (like the Buddha).
