Find out more about the unique food philosophy at Mount Med Resort.

Everyone is unique – in appearance, character and most other characteristics. Even the way we utilise food and nutrients is different for every one of us. This is why Mount Med Resort has developed three different nutrition plans that take each guest's uniqueness into account. Following a consultation, the resort’s experts will work to establish which one is most suitable for each guest, based on their physical and mental requirements.

Weight Guardian

Science-based, this takes a similar approach to the keto diet, adding calorie reduction to induce your body to mimic fasting and stimulate lipid metabolism.

Green Local Hero

This is plant-based gourmet cuisine with a healthy nutritional ethos based on sustainably-grown natural food. Protein also plays an important role along with whole carbohydrates and green superfoods.

What do you eat on a typical day at Mount Med Resort?

Breakfast is typically a daily box, which includes cured meats or fish, eggs cooked to your liking, or avocado on a grain cracker. You can also have chia seeds with banana and a few raspberries. A protein shake follows at 10am, and then lunch is normally a daily bone or vegetable broth, followed by a salad of luscious leaves, some pulses and prawns. Then your main course is normally veal or some chicken, or a delicious stew with vegetables. A snack of a grain biscuit or breadstick is made available at 4pm, and then your final meal of the day follows the same structure as lunch, but with a different protein.

Who is responsible for creating the meals at Mount Med Resort?

Executive Chef Boris Meyer has worked at many a haute cuisine hotspot, including Michelin starred and Gault & Millau toque-awarded establishments: Noma in Copenhagen, Vendôme in Bensberg, Per Se in New York and Herzog’s in New Zealand. Nature as a source of healing, a commitment to quality and, above all, curiosity and a passion for discovery have always played a pivotal role in his work. It was mainly during his international roles that Meyer, who comes from Lower Saxony in Germany, realised that food is as much about health as it is about taste. Since then, he has experimented with herbs, flavours, techniques and textures and now uses nature’s wealth of healing resources to create healthy and enjoyable dishes for Mount Med Resort's guests.
